Fourth of July Tragedy: One Dead, Suspect in Custody After Shooting at Sledster’s Bar in Grand Forks

GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) – We have an update regarding a shooting in downtown Grand Forks on this Fourth of July evening. TRF News has confirmed that one man is dead and a suspect, 26-year-old Nicholas Narveson of Grand Forks, is in custody on a charge of Class AA murder.

The incident occurred at Sledster’s Bar on South 4th Street. Witnesses reported that Narveson entered the bar and may have been experiencing mental health issues. After the shooting, he ran to Tea and Crepes restaurant, where he allegedly asked the owner to hide him in a closet at gunpoint. Police quickly responded, entering the restaurant and taking Narveson into custody.

No further details have been released by the police yet, but the victim’s identity will be made public once next of kin are notified. Narveson remains in jail on this Fourth of July night, charged with murder.
