Fosston Teen Killed in Rural Clay County Crash
Clay County, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) — Authorities have identified two people involved in a fatal rural Clay County crash.
Lindsey Rabon, 19, of Fosston, Minnesota, died at the scene, according to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.
Vicktor Robinson, 21, of Sisseton, South Dakota, was driving the vehicle.
Robinson suffered serious, life-threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Crash Reported Early Friday
The crash happened around 1:41 a.m. Friday, September 25.
It occurred in the 10000 block of 90th Avenue North in rural Clay County.
Emergency crews were sent to the area after receiving an automatic crash notification from a cell phone.
Deputies found a vehicle that had left the roadway when they arrived.
The vehicle then struck a power pole, according to authorities.
Rabon was a passenger in the vehicle.
She was pronounced dead at the crash scene.
Robinson was transported for medical care after suffering life-threatening injuries.
Speed and Alcohol Being Investigated
Investigators said speed and alcohol appear to have contributed to the crash.
Those findings are preliminary, and authorities have not announced a final cause.
Officials also have not announced any criminal charges connected with the crash.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The Minnesota State Patrol is assisting with the investigation.
