At approximately 3:38 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, the Fargo Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a structure fire in a rental property at 910 4th Avenue South in Fargo.
Upon arrival, firefighters noticed heavy smoke coming from the second floor of the home as well as the roof of the porch, and a second alarm was called. The rental property was vacant and no occupants or pets were inside the home. The fire was extinguished approximately 20 minutes after initial crews arrived on scene.
The residence sustained significant smoke and fire damage. A cost estimate of the damage is not available at this time. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. No additional information is available.
The Fargo Fire Department responded to the scene with five engines, one ladder truck and two command vehicles. The Fargo Police Department, Sanford Ambulance and the Salvation Army assisted at the scene.
