Flood Alert: Red River Reaches Flood Stage in Grand Forks

GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) The Red River has hit flood stage at Grand Forks. The City has several announcements.
a red river at East Grand Forks Grand Forks has hit flood stage flood stage is 28 feet it’s currently at 29.8 feet at noon on this this Tuesday uh these announcements from the city of uh Grand Forks Grand Forks closed the South End pedestrian bridge this morning East Grand Forks Crews closed the North End pedestrian bridge last week there are several Vehicles parking in the lower parking lot on the Red River Road boat ramp that appear have been to been there long-term owners are asked to get those Vehicles ready to move as that parking lot will be impacted by the rising flood waters in the near future water has started to impact the lower trails and the greenway Greenway users are asked not to use Trails if there is water on it even if there isn’t a barricade in place Crews will work to get barricades in place on impact as Trails as fast as they can the large amount of ice on the river can cause rapid rise and fall of river levels due to ice jams impacting Trails on the greenway all information regarding the 2023 flood planning and operations can be found online at Grand forksgov.com flood I’m Neil Berg reporting for itrfnews.i234.me

  1. Red rose 5 feet in 24 hours 1:30 pm Monday to 1:30 pm Tuesday. Rapid, at least for now. Poster's estimate is looking at 47.5 feet when all is said. Have a great river watch day.
