Lake of the Woods (trfnews.i234.me) – On Sunday morning, a report came in of a fish house falling through the ice on Lake of the Woods, near Springsteel Resort, just outside of Warroad. Authorities responded to the scene, but fortunately, everyone involved was accounted for and unharmed.
The incident was reported as the fish house went through the ice into the water. Emergency responders were initially called in for assistance, with a request for a 1021 (code for “check in with”) to the owner of the fish house. The situation was quickly assessed, and it was confirmed that there were no injuries.
The ice conditions in the area were reportedly unstable, which contributed to the accident, but thankfully, no one was injured. Local authorities and emergency services were on the scene to ensure the situation was handled safely.
