Fergus Falls Man Faces Felony Drug, DWI Charges

FERGUS FALLS, Minn. — (trfnews.i234.me) — A Fergus Falls man faces four criminal charges after an early morning roadside investigation.

Mason Timothy Lilly is charged in Otter Tail County District Court. The charges include one felony and three misdemeanor DWI counts.

The allegations come from a criminal complaint filed in Minnesota’s Seventh Judicial District. A criminal charge is an accusation. Lilly is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

Vehicle Found Off Highway 210

Court documents say deputies responded at about 5:46 a.m. on March 7, 2026.

The call involved a vehicle near 130th Avenue and Minnesota Highway 210. The vehicle was reportedly off the road. Its airbags may have deployed.

Deputies allegedly found Lilly asleep behind the steering wheel. They reported smelling alcohol after waking him.

The complaint says deputies saw a glasses case containing a white crystal-like substance. A later vehicle search allegedly found more suspected drugs.

Investigators also reported finding a pipe with burned residue. An empty alcohol container was allegedly located under the driver’s seat.

Lilly reportedly told deputies that he had drunk alcohol earlier that night.

Blood Test Cited in Complaint

The complaint says Lilly showed several possible signs of impairment. He was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving.

Authorities later obtained a warrant for a blood or urine sample. Lilly agreed to provide a blood sample, according to the complaint.

The test allegedly showed a blood alcohol level of 0.08. It also reportedly detected methamphetamine and amphetamine.

The suspected crystal substance weighed about 2.2 grams. A field test reportedly identified the substance as methamphetamine.

Four Charges Filed

Lilly faces fifth-degree controlled substance possession. The felony carries a maximum five-year prison term and a possible $10,000 fine.

He also faces three fourth-degree DWI-related misdemeanor charges. Each misdemeanor carries up to 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.

The counts involve alleged combined substance impairment, a 0.08 alcohol level, and a Schedule I or II drug.
