OTTER TAIL COUNTY (trfnews.i234.me) — A Fergus Falls man faces two DWI charges after an early-morning encounter on June 8.

Hunter Zachery Norman, 27, is charged in Otter Tail County District Court. Both counts are gross misdemeanors.

The complaint charges Norman with second-degree DWI while under the influence of alcohol. It also charges him with having an alcohol concentration of 0.08 or higher.

Each count carries a maximum sentence of 364 days in jail. Each also carries a possible $3,000 fine.

Vehicle Found Near Rural Intersection

According to the complaint, a deputy found a parked vehicle around 12:13 a.m. Its headlights were off.

The vehicle was near 190th Street and 260th Street in Otter Tail County. Two people were inside.

A four-wheeler was parked behind the vehicle. Norman was sitting in the passenger seat.

Norman allegedly said he rode the four-wheeler there about one hour earlier. The complaint says he showed signs of alcohol use.

Those reported signs included bloodshot eyes, watery eyes, and slurred speech. Norman allegedly said he had consumed a couple beers.

Breath Tests Cited in Complaint

The complaint says Norman completed field sobriety testing. A roadside breath test allegedly showed a 0.206 alcohol concentration.

Norman was then arrested and taken to the Otter Tail County detention facility. He was given time to contact an attorney.

A later breath test was completed at 1:25 a.m. That test allegedly returned a 0.22 alcohol concentration.

Prosecutors allege two aggravating factors supported the second-degree charges. The complaint cites one prior DWI conviction.

The charges were filed under Minnesota’s DWI offense law and second-degree DWI law.

Case information may also be available through Minnesota Court Records Online. The court file number is 56-CR-26-1309.

A criminal complaint contains allegations. Norman is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
