Fargo Homicide Suspect Captured in Nebraska

Fargo, North Dakota (trfnews.i234.me) — Fargo Police are investigating a homicide discovered during a welfare check Monday.

Officers responded around 4:25 p.m. to an apartment complex on 34th Street South.

The call involved an apartment in the 1800 block, according to police.

Officers tried several times to contact people inside the apartment.

They eventually entered the unit and found a person dead inside.

Police have not publicly identified the victim.

Death Investigated as Homicide

Investigators secured the apartment and began collecting evidence.

Police said early findings indicate the victim died from homicidal violence.

Investigators also believe the victim and the suspect knew each other.

The exact cause of death remains under investigation.

Police are also working to establish the victim’s final known contacts.

Detectives are trying to build a timeline leading to the death.

Fargo Police identified the suspect as 42-year-old Brandon Cletus George.

George was located in Nebraska on Tuesday morning.

The Nebraska State Patrol said authorities pursued a Toyota Camry connected to the investigation.

The pursuit moved onto Interstate 80 and continued toward the Lincoln area.

State Patrol officials said the vehicle reached speeds exceeding 100 mph.

Troopers eventually used stop sticks before the vehicle exited near Ashland.

George was taken into custody shortly after 9:10 a.m.

He was booked into the Lancaster County Jail on separate Nebraska allegations.

Those allegations include reckless driving, fleeing arrest and terroristic threats.

Authorities also listed allegations involving a deadly weapon and an attempted felony.

Those allegations have not resulted in a conviction.

Fargo detectives are continuing to gather evidence and follow investigative leads.

Police said investigators planned to attempt an interview with George.

No Fargo homicide charge had been announced in the initial police release.

Authorities said more information will be released when it will not harm the investigation.
