Eugene Kramer – Obituary

Eugene W. Kramer passed away on May 5th, 2024, surrounded by his family. Eugene was born on August 22, 1931, he was 92 years old.

Eugene was born on August 22,1931, in Linton, North Dakota to Wendelin and Natalia (Miller) Kramer. Gene graduated from St. Bens High School in 1950. He entered the U.S. Air Force on December 31, 1951, and was discharged on December 15, 1955. Gene married Anna Mary Schaffer on July 26th, 1955.

Gene and Ann farmed 6 miles southwest of Strasburg, North Dakota. They later sold the farm and bought a motel in Kingman, Arizona. When they sold the motel in 1988 they moved to Grand Forks where they later retired.

Eugene was an avid sports fan and athlete. He loved to watch his children and grandkids play. He was also an avid card player and had a deck on hand at all times. Gene was very active at the GF Senior Center from volunteering, organizing to lunch and pinochle. Gene had spent a lot of time with his special friend Joan Ledbury over his last several years.

Eugene is survived by his four children, Jack Kramer and Paula Shuffler from Kingman, Arizona, Darlene and Alvin Buechler from Fargo, North Dakota, Don and Carla Kramer from Grand Forks, North Dakota, and Eugene “Beanie” and Christine Kramer from Kingman, Arizona.

He is survived by his 4 children and their spouses and 16 grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Anna Mary Kramer, grandson Jordan Kramer, his parents, and 15 siblings.

There will be a visitation at Holy Family Catholic Church in Grand Forks, ND on Friday May 10, 2024 from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM followed by a funeral mass at 4 PM. To access the livestream of the mass go to www.facebook.com/holyfamilygf.  Inurnment will be on Saturday, May 11, 2024 in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Strasburg, North Dakota.  The family prefers memorials to the Grand Forks Senior Center.
