Euclid Man Charged In Polk County DWI Case
Polk County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Euclid man is facing a gross misdemeanor DWI charge in Polk County District Court.
Shannon Leroy Sersland, 57, of Euclid, has been charged with second-degree driving while impaired.
The charge was filed under Minnesota Statute 169A.20. It also references Minnesota Statute 169A.25.
Court records show the alleged offense happened on June 4, 2026. The case is filed as 60-CR-26-771.
Traffic Stop Reported Near Highway 75
According to the complaint, a Minnesota State Patrol officer was on patrol around 10:49 p.m.
The officer was traveling north on U.S. Highway 75 near Center Street.
The complaint states that a gray 2015 Chevrolet Silverado approached a traffic circle at a slow speed.
The vehicle allegedly crossed the solid white fog line. It then moved back into its lane.
The complaint says the vehicle continued to swerve within its lane. A traffic stop was then made.

Complaint Alleges 0.11 BAC
Sersland was identified by his Minnesota driver’s license, according to the complaint.
The officer reported signs of possible alcohol use during the stop.
The complaint says Sersland first denied using alcohol or drugs before driving.
He later allegedly said he had two beers. He then allegedly said he had four beers.
Field sobriety tests were conducted. The complaint states Sersland did not complete them in a satisfactory way.
A preliminary breath test allegedly showed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.11.
Sersland was then arrested on suspicion of DWI. He was taken to the Northwest Regional Corrections Center.
At the jail, a breath test was given at about 12:08 a.m. on June 5.
The complaint says that the test also showed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.11.
Prior Convictions Listed In Complaint
The complaint lists two prior impaired driving convictions as aggravating factors.
Those include a 2018 DWI conviction in Polk County.
It also lists a 2023 driving under the influence conviction in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
Second-degree DWI is a gross misdemeanor in Minnesota.
The listed maximum sentence is 364 days in jail. It also carries a $3,000 fine, or both.
