East Grand Forks DWI Stop Leads To Charges

East Grand Forks (trfnews.i234.me) — A Fisher woman is facing two gross misdemeanor DWI charges in Polk County District Court.

Alexandria Casey Johnson, 35, of Fisher, has been charged with third-degree driving while impaired.

The case was filed in Minnesota’s Ninth Judicial District. The court file number is 60-CR-26-445.

The charges stem from an April 5, 2026, traffic stop in East Grand Forks.

Traffic Stop On Demers Avenue

According to the complaint, a dark SUV was seen driving without headlights.

The vehicle was northbound on Demers Avenue shortly before 9 p.m.

A traffic stop was then made in East Grand Forks.

Johnson was identified as the driver. The complaint says she was alone in the SUV.

Authorities reported seeing bloodshot and watery eyes. They also reported slurred speech.

The complaint says a strong odor of alcohol came from the vehicle.

Johnson allegedly said she had one whiskey sour at The Bun Lounge.

Breath Test Reported at .17

The complaint says Johnson agreed to field sobriety tests.

Authorities reported several signs of possible impairment during those tests.

A preliminary breath test allegedly showed a .185 BAC.

Johnson was arrested and taken for further testing.

At the police department, Johnson asked to speak with an attorney.

She later agreed to a breath test, according to court records.

The final reported breath value was .17 BrAC.

The complaint says Johnson had no prior alcohol-related convictions.

Gross Misdemeanor Charges Filed

Johnson is charged under Minnesota Statute 169A.20.

The third-degree DWI charge references Minnesota Statute 169A.26.

Each count carries a maximum sentence of 364 days in jail.

Each count also carries a possible $3,000 fine.

Johnson is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
