Detroit Lakes (trfnews.i234.me) — A Mahnomen man is facing two gross misdemeanor charges in Becker County District Court after a reported parking lot crash in Detroit Lakes.

Andrew William Lundon is charged with failure to provide insurance information as a vehicle owner. He is also charged with intent to escape taxation.

The case was filed in Minnesota’s 7th Judicial District under court file number 03-CR-26-682. The charges are tied to an alleged incident on February 4, 2026.

Crash Reported In Parking Lot

According to the complaint, Melinda Jean Jones was driving a black 2010 Ford F-150 in the L&M Fleet parking lot in Detroit Lakes.

The complaint says the truck struck a parked brown 2012 Toyota RAV4 owned by Jacob Scott Osterman. The RAV4 was unoccupied at the time.

Court documents allege Jones left the scene without stopping. The complaint says she did not exchange information or leave a note.

Authorities later contacted Lundon, who was listed as the owner of the truck. The complaint says Lundon provided a State Farm insurance policy.

Insurance And Registration Claims

According to the complaint, State Farm reported the policy was not in effect.

Written requests for insurance information were later sent to both Lundon and Jones. The complaint says neither person provided insurance information.

Court documents state Lundon’s driving privilege was revoked. The complaint also says he had two prior insurance-related convictions within ten years.

The complaint says Jones’ driving privilege was also revoked. Court documents state she had one prior insurance-related conviction within ten years.

The vehicle registration allegedly expired in November 2025. The complaint also states Jones had been stopped while driving the truck on September 29, 2025.

Prosecutors allege Lundon had not transferred title. They also allege he had not listed the truck for taxation.

Charges Filed In Becker County

Each count carries a maximum penalty of one year in jail, a $3,000 fine, or both.
