A caller said people in a van at the homeless shelter heard gunshots to the north.

The radio traffic indicated they heard five or six shots.

That information was part of the early emergency response.

It was not yet clear who fired the shots.

At the scene, a body appeared to be covered in front of a law enforcement vehicle.

The visible response suggested a death investigation was underway.
