Bowman Driver Dies After Highway 12 Crash
Bowman County (trfnews.i234.me) — A 67-year-old Bowman man died Friday after a single-vehicle crash west of Bowman.
The crash happened at about 8:45 a.m. on July 3, 2026. It occurred on Highway 12 near mile marker 30.
The man was driving a 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 westbound. Authorities said he may have suffered a medical emergency.
The pickup then crossed the roadway and entered the south ditch. It continued west through the ditch before striking a tree.
After hitting the tree, the pickup moved onto a gravel frontage road. It later came to rest in a nearby ditch.
Emergency crews took the driver to Bowman Hospital. Medical staff later pronounced him dead.
The driver was wearing a seat belt, according to the release. His name was not released Friday.
Dry Road and Normal Weather Reported
Road conditions were dry when the crash happened. Weather conditions were also described as normal.
No other vehicles were involved. Authorities did not report any passengers inside the pickup.
The crash happened west of Bowman in southwestern North Dakota. Highway 12 remained the focus of the investigation Friday.
Several Agencies Responded
The North Dakota Highway Patrol is leading the investigation. The Bowman County Sheriff’s Office also responded.
Bowman Ambulance Service and the Bowman Fire Department assisted at the scene. No emergency responder names were included in this report.
Officials have not said whether an autopsy will be conducted. They also have not released more details about the suspected medical event.
