Bemidji Woman Charged in $1,000 Walmart Theft Case

Beltrami County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Red Lake woman is facing a felony theft charge after a reported Walmart incident involving more than $1,000 in merchandise.

Cassandra Ann Donnell, born December 18, 2001, has been charged in Beltrami County District Court with felony theft.

The charge stems from an incident reported on July 7, 2026, at the Walmart store in Beltrami County.

Felony Theft Charge Filed

According to a criminal complaint, Donnell is accused of taking movable property without consent and with the intent to permanently deprive the owner of possession.

The complaint lists the charge as Theft-Take/Use/Transfer Movable Property-No Consent under Minnesota law.

The charge carries a possible maximum sentence of up to five years in prison, a fine of up to $10,000, or both.

The case was filed in the Minnesota Ninth Judicial District Court in Beltrami County.

Walmart Loss Prevention Reports Incident

The complaint states that a report of a possible shoplifting incident was made at Walmart.

When authorities arrived, loss prevention staff reported stopping a person after they passed the final point of sale.

The person was identified as Cassandra Ann Donnell.

According to court documents, the items in the shopping cart were scanned and totaled more than $1,000.

The complaint states Donnell was later trespassed from Walmart.

Court Case Moves Forward

The allegations in the complaint are not convictions. Donnell is considered innocent unless proven guilty in court.

Court records show the case remains active in Beltrami County.
