Bemidji Man Charged After Missing Court Hearing

Bemidji (trfnews.i234.me) — A Bemidji man faces a felony charge after allegedly missing a required court hearing.

Gregory Roy Weossner has been charged with felony failure to appear in Clearwater County District Court.

The charge stems from an in-person hearing scheduled for June 12, 2026.

Court records allege Weossner did not attend the hearing as required.

A body-only arrest warrant was issued after the missed appearance.

Earlier DWI Case Led to Court Order

According to the criminal complaint, Weossner was arrested on January 31, 2026.

He was accused of first-degree driving while impaired and driving after cancellation.

The first-degree DWI allegation was filed as a felony.

The driving-after-cancellation allegation was filed as a gross misdemeanor.

Weossner remained in the Clearwater County Jail until his February 2 arraignment.

During that hearing, the court ordered him to attend all future court appearances.

He was also directed to remain in contact with his attorney.

The complaint states Weossner received written notice about missing required court hearings.

The notice explained that an intentional absence could lead to another criminal charge.

Minnesota law allows felony charges when a person misses court in an underlying felony case.

The new charge carries a maximum sentence of three-and-a-half years in prison.

It also carries a possible fine of up to $7,000.

A judge could impose imprisonment, a fine, or both following a conviction.

The allegations are contained in a criminal complaint filed in Minnesota’s Ninth Judicial District.

Weossner is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
