Bemidji (trfnews.i234.me) — A Redby man is facing a gross misdemeanor DWI charge after a late-night traffic stop in Bemidji.
Emery Bruce Skinaway II is charged in Beltrami County District Court.
The charge involves driving while impaired with an alcohol concentration of 0.08 or more within two hours.
The case was filed under court file number 04-CR-26-886.
The alleged offense happened on April 19, 2026, in the City of Bemidji.
Truck Stopped With No Headlights
According to the complaint, a deputy was on routine patrol on Irvine Avenue NW.
The deputy saw a light-colored Dodge truck traveling north toward 5th Street.
The complaint says the truck did not have its headlights on.
A traffic stop was then made in Beltrami County.
The driver was identified as Emery Bruce Skinaway II.
While speaking with Skinaway, the deputy reported seeing an open Bud Light container.
The container was in the center console, according to the complaint.

Alcohol Odor And Test Results Reported
The complaint says a strong odor of alcohol came from the vehicle.
The deputy also reported that Skinaway had slurred speech.
Skinaway was described as having watery red eyes.
The complaint also says he appeared lethargic during the stop.
Skinaway was asked to perform field sobriety tests.
The complaint says he was unable to complete them in a satisfactory way.
A preliminary breath test allegedly showed an alcohol concentration of .20.
Skinaway was then taken into custody.
He was transported to the Beltrami County Jail.
At the jail, Skinaway agreed to provide a breath sample.
The complaint says that the breath sample showed an alcohol concentration of .22.
Charge Filed In Beltrami County
The charge cites Minnesota Statute 169A.20.
The complaint also references Minnesota Statute 169A.26.
The offense is listed as a gross misdemeanor.
The maximum sentence listed is 364 days in jail.
The charge also carries a possible fine of up to $3,000.
Beltrami County District Court is part of Minnesota’s Ninth Judicial District.
