Belcourt School Mourns Falynn Ferris After Crash

Belcourt, North Dakota (trfnews.i234.me) — Turtle Mountain Community Schools is mourning the death of Falynn Ferris.

Ferris died in a car crash early Sunday morning, according to the school district.

She worked at Turtle Mountain Community Middle School in Belcourt.

The district described Ferris as a teacher, mentor and coach known across the school community.

The district’s official staff directory also lists Ferris with the middle school.

District Mourns Sudden Loss

Superintendent Shane M. Martin addressed the death in a message to the school community.

Martin said the sudden loss has deeply affected families, students, and school employees.

He said many people are struggling to understand what happened so suddenly.

Children have lost loved ones, while families across the community are grieving.

The district also offered condolences to other families affected by the crash.

School officials said other community members were killed or injured.

Officials did not provide the total number of people involved.

Turtle Mountain Community Schools is making counseling services available this week.

Elementary school counselors will provide extra support at the middle school.

The high school counseling team has also offered assistance to staff and students.
