Bagley Man Charged With High BAC DWI

Clearwater County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Bagley man is facing a gross misdemeanor DWI charge after authorities allege he was driving with a high alcohol concentration on Highway 2.

High BAC Alleged During Traffic Stop

Jesse Richard Hall, 55, of Bagley, is charged with third-degree driving while impaired.

The charge was filed in Clearwater County District Court.

Court documents state the alleged incident happened on July 5, 2026.

According to the complaint, authorities received a report of a black Toyota weaving on Highway 2.

The vehicle was reportedly crossing the center fog line while traveling west toward Bagley.

The vehicle later stopped on the shoulder of Highway 2 near Shevlin.

When authorities contacted Hall, he was identified as the driver.

The complaint states Hall appeared impaired when contacted.

Officials reported smelling a strong odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle.

The complaint also states Hall had watery eyes and slow movements.

His speech was described as unclear and slow during the interaction.

Breath Test Reported At .28

According to court documents, Hall agreed to perform field sobriety testing.

The complaint states he had trouble maintaining balance after leaving the vehicle.

Officials reported stopping additional testing because of Hall’s physical condition.

A preliminary breath test was then administered.

The complaint states the result was a .28 alcohol concentration.

Authorities later arrested Hall.

During a search of the vehicle, an open bottle of vodka was reportedly found.

The bottle was located under the driver’s seat and had little liquid remaining.

Blood Sample Submitted For Testing

Hall was taken to the Sanford Bagley Emergency Room following the arrest.

Court documents state a judge approved a warrant for a blood or urine sample.

Hall agreed to provide a blood sample.

The sample was collected shortly after midnight by medical staff.

The blood sample will be analyzed by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

Based on the reported preliminary breath test result, authorities believe the final BAC could exceed .16.

Possible Penalties

Third-degree DWI is a gross misdemeanor offense in Minnesota.

If convicted, the charge carries possible penalties of up to 364 days in jail.

It may also include a fine of up to $3,000.

All charges are allegations, and Hall is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
