Thief River Falls, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – On October 13 at approximately 5:34 p.m., police performed a traffic stop along Knight Avenue in Thief River Falls. Tyrus Mathew Olson, 27, was charged with second-degree DWI and driving after revocation.

According to the complaint, an officer allegedly observed Olson operating an off-road motorcycle on Knight Avenue while intoxicated. The vehicle is not street-legal, and Olson did not have it registered. Furthermore, the officer knows that Olson does not possess a valid driver’s license.

Olson displayed indicators of impairment during field sobriety tests, claiming he had not consumed alcohol for seven hours, had just awoken, and was on his way to purchase cigarettes at the time of the stop. However, preliminary breath test results revealed a BAC (blood-alcohol content) level of 0.254, while the DMT machine yielded a result of 0.21.

The complaint noted that Olson has prior DUI convictions, adding weight to the charges against him.
