Jamestown (trfnews.i234.me) — A Jamestown teacher and volunteer firefighter has been arrested following allegations of a sexual relationship with a student.
Michael P. Romans, 45, of Jamestown, was arrested on December 29 on a charge of corruption of a minor, according to Jamestown Police.
Allegations Involving Student
Jamestown Police Chief Scott Edinger confirmed the arrest.
Police allege Romans had a sexual relationship with a student in the Jamestown Public Schools system.
Court information indicates the alleged relationship occurred over a period of one to two years.
The investigation remains active, and additional details have not yet been released.
Employment Roles
Romans is a teacher at Gusner Elementary School.
He also serves as a volunteer firefighter for the City of Jamestown.
Following the arrest, Romans was placed on administrative leave from both positions.

Booked into Jail
Romans was booked into the Stutsman County Correctional Center.
Authorities say he is being held while formal charges are prepared.
Police say the case remains under investigation.

Jamestown Public Schools and city officials have not released additional statements.
