Bemidji Woman Faces Felony Meth Possession Charge

Bemidji (trfnews.i234.me) — Tianna Lin-Marie Beaulieu faces a felony drug possession charge in Beltrami County District Court.

Prosecutors allege Beaulieu possessed methamphetamine during an August 10, 2026, traffic stop in Bemidji.

The case began after police located a van reported stolen from Red Lake.

Beaulieu was a passenger and is not charged with stealing the vehicle in this complaint.

The drug charge carries up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Stolen Van Located in Bemidji

Police spotted a white Chrysler van near 10th Street Northwest and Bemidji Avenue North.

Authorities had received information that the van was reported stolen from Red Lake.

Dispatch confirmed the active stolen-vehicle report with Red Lake police.

Officers followed the van until additional law enforcement arrived.

A high-risk traffic stop followed near Paul Bunyan Drive South and Grant Avenue.

Three people inside the vehicle were detained, according to the criminal complaint.

Christie Faith Prentice was identified as the driver.

Beaulieu was identified as the front-seat passenger.

Suspected Drugs Found in Purse

Police conducted an inventory search of the van after the stop.

Investigators found a purse in the front passenger area, according to the complaint.

A wallet inside the purse contained a small bag of white crystal-like material.

The suspected methamphetamine weighed about .78 grams before laboratory testing.

A visitor placard inside the purse displayed Beaulieu’s name.

Investigators also reported finding a larger bag of suspected methamphetamine in the purse.

That substance weighed about 3.09 grams, according to the complaint.

A vial containing about 2.03 grams of suspected fentanyl was also reported inside the purse.

The complaint says field tests indicated the substances included methamphetamine and fentanyl.

However, the complaint charges Beaulieu only with fifth-degree possession involving methamphetamine.

Driver Discusses Stolen Vehicle

A rear passenger told investigators that Prentice had given him and Beaulieu a ride.

He said he did not know the van had been reported stolen.

He also denied knowing about controlled substances inside the vehicle.

Prentice told investigators she had been driving the van for about two years.

She claimed she did not know it had been reported stolen.

Investigators later contacted the registered owner.

The owner confirmed Prentice had originally received permission to use the van.

Beaulieu and Prentice were later arrested and taken to the Beltrami County Jail.

Felony Drug Case Filed

Beaulieu is charged under Minnesota Statute 152.025.

The statute covers unlawful possession of Schedule I, II, III, or IV controlled substances.

Methamphetamine is a controlled substance under Minnesota law.

The case is State of Minnesota v. Tianna Lin-Marie Beaulieu.

The court file number is 04-CR-26-1881 in Minnesota’s Ninth Judicial District.
