Frazee, Becker County (trfnews.i234.me) — A 19-year-old man died after a shooting during an overnight disturbance in Frazee, according to the Becker County Sheriff’s Office.
What happened
Deputies were called at about 2:38 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, 2025. The call reported a disturbance at a home. The address was 701 W. Ash Ave. in Frazee.
While deputies were on the way, dispatch received a report of shots fired. A caller said one person was hurt. When deputies arrived, they found a young man with a gunshot wound.
Emergency aid was given at the scene. Medical crews then took the victim to Essentia Health St. Mary’s–Detroit Lakes. He later died at the hospital.
Officials first withheld the victim’s name. They said they needed to notify the family. The victim was later identified as Bryson Andrew May, 19, of Frazee.

Detentions and update
Investigators said four people left the scene in a black SUV. An Otter Tail County deputy later located the SUV north of Perham. Officials said four people were detained.
In a later update, the sheriff’s office said two people remained in custody. One is Arthur Deshun Campbell of New York Mills. The other is a 16-year-old male in juvenile detention. Officials said both were awaiting formal charges.
Authorities have not said what led to the disturbance. They have not released a possible motive. No court dates were announced in the update.
Investigation continues
Officials described the shooting as an isolated incident. They said there was no ongoing threat to the public. The investigation remains active.
The sheriff’s office said it received help from local and state partners. Those partners included Frazee Police, Frazee Rescue, and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
