Mahnomen Man Charged After Fentanyl Found in Wallet

Mahnomen (trfnews.i234.me) — A Mahnomen man faces a felony drug possession charge following an August 5 arrest.

Jordan Allan Pergl is charged with fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance.

Prosecutors allege Pergl possessed a mixture containing fentanyl in Mahnomen.

The case was filed in Mahnomen County District Court.

Police Respond to Report

According to the criminal complaint, police responded around 10:44 p.m. on August 5, 2026.

The call involved a report of a man behaving unusually near Jefferson Avenue in Mahnomen.

Casino security told police that Pergl had been removed from Shooting Star Casino twice that day.

Law enforcement later located Pergl walking through a parking area toward a nearby strip mall.

The complaint says Pergl appeared jittery and showed possible signs of drug impairment.

Pergl reportedly told police that he was fine and was leaving the property.

Dispatch then confirmed an outstanding felony warrant for Pergl, according to court records.

Police arrested Pergl after learning about the warrant.

Syringe and Fentanyl Allegedly Found

The complaint says officers searched Pergl after placing him under arrest.

Investigators reported finding a syringe in one of his pockets.

Pergl was then transported to the Mahnomen County Sheriff’s Office.

During another search, investigators allegedly found a clear plastic bag inside Pergl’s wallet.

The bag contained a white substance, according to the criminal complaint.

Authorities field-tested the substance and reported a positive result for fentanyl.

The substance and its packaging weighed about 0.8 grams, court records state.

Felony Drug Charge Filed

Prosecutors charged Pergl with fifth-degree controlled substance possession.

The complaint lists a maximum sentence of five years in prison.

The charge also carries a possible fine of up to $10,000.

The complaint cites a previous second-degree controlled substance conviction involving Pergl.
