Callaway Man Charged After Traffic Stop
Callaway, Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) — A Callaway traffic stop has led to criminal charges against David Murray Bowen, 59, of Eagan.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Becker County District Court, Bowen is facing charges related to alleged driving violations in Callaway.
Traffic Stop Leads To Charges
The complaint states the incident happened on May 24, 2026, in the city of Callaway.
Authorities said a vehicle was observed traveling north on Main Avenue near Dakota Street.
The vehicle was allegedly traveling above the posted speed limit. The complaint also states the vehicle had heavily tinted windows.
The driver was identified as David Murray Bowen.
According to court documents, Bowen was traveling 41 miles per hour in a posted 30-mile-per-hour zone.
The complaint states Bowen was also unable to provide proof of active vehicle insurance when requested.

Multiple Counts Filed
Bowen is charged with gross misdemeanor failure to provide proof of insurance.
The charge alleges he operated a vehicle without proof of insurance in violation of Minnesota law.
He is also charged with driving after cancellation of his driving privileges.
The complaint states his driving privileges were canceled at the time of the stop.
A third charge alleges speeding.
The speeding allegation claims Bowen was driving 41 miles per hour in a 30-mile-per-hour area.
Prior Driving Convictions Listed
The complaint lists previous convictions involving driving without a valid license.
Those convictions were listed from years including 1998, 2000, 2003, 2010, 2019, and 2024.
The complaint also lists previous insurance-related convictions.
Those convictions were listed from 2003, 2010, 2020, 2024, and 2025.
All charges are allegations. Bowen is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
The case is filed in Becker County District Court in Minnesota’s Seventh Judicial District.
