Bemidji Woman Charged In License Case
Bemidji (trfnews.i234.me) — A Bemidji woman is facing a gross misdemeanor charge after a traffic stop in Beltrami County.
Alicia Anne Flaaten, 40, of Bemidji, has been charged in Minnesota District Court. The case was filed in the 9th Judicial District in Beltrami County.
According to the complaint, Flaaten is charged with driving after cancellation. The charge states her driving privileges were canceled as being inimical to public safety.
The alleged offense happened on May 17, 2026, in the City of Bemidji.
Traffic Stop On Washington Avenue
Authorities say a vehicle was seen traveling 42 mph in a 35 mph zone. The stop happened on Washington Avenue in Bemidji.
Troopers then stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Alicia Anne Flaaten.
According to court documents, Flaaten appeared anxious during the stop. She allegedly told authorities she should not be driving.
The complaint says Flaaten stated her license was invalid. She later clarified it was canceled as inimical to public safety.

Flaaten allegedly told authorities she was driving a passenger to see his mother. She said the passenger’s mother had been in a car accident.
Troopers checked Flaaten’s driving status after the stop. The complaint says they confirmed her Minnesota driving privileges were canceled.
