Red Lake County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Red Lake Falls man faces several charges after a traffic stop on Broadway Avenue.

The stop happened during the evening of April 25, 2026, in Red Lake Falls. Authorities said the vehicle was stopped for an equipment violation.

The driver was identified as Lee Alan Kaml, 58, of Red Lake Falls. Authorities said Kaml had a revoked driver’s license.

According to the sheriff’s office report, Kaml also showed signs of impairment. Authorities said the suspected impairment involved an illegal controlled substance.

Kaml was placed under arrest. He then reported that he was having an asthma attack.

The Red Lake Falls Ambulance was called to the scene. Authorities said Kaml refused treatment and transport.

Controlled Substances Reported In Vehicle

Additional deputies responded to the stop. Authorities said illegal controlled substances were found inside Kaml’s vehicle.

Kaml was taken to jail in Crookston. He was booked on felony possession of an illegal controlled substance.

He was also booked for gross misdemeanor DWI test refusal. A misdemeanor driving after revocation charge was also listed.

Kaml appeared in court in Crookston on April 27, 2026. He was released with court-ordered conditions.

His next court appearance is scheduled for May 6, 2026, in Red Lake Falls. Court information can be checked through Minnesota Court Records Online.

Training Burn Held In Lambert Township

On April 26, Red Lake County law enforcement and Oklee Ambulance assisted at a training burn.

The burn was held in Lambert Township. The Oklee Fire Department also took part.

Members from other area fire departments joined the exercise. An abandoned house was burned during the training.

Other Red Lake County Calls

Also on April 26, a Red Lake Falls resident reported loud music from a neighbor.

A deputy spoke with the person involved. Authorities said the person agreed to turn the music down.

On April 27, a Red Lake Falls resident reported trespassing and theft. That case remains under investigation.

Later that morning, a vehicle struck Wright’s Consignment in Red Lake Falls. The vehicle and building were damaged.

No injuries were reported. Crash reports were completed for the driver and building owner.

On April 27, authorities received a dog bite report in Brooks. The victim went to Sanford Health in Thief River Falls for treatment.

Scott Richard Lambert, 49, of Brooks, was cited for misdemeanor public nuisance. Authorities said two dogs were running loose.

On April 28, two labs were reported missing south of Terrebonne. Anyone with information may contact the sheriff’s office.

On April 29, James Roger Nephew, 59, of Red Lake Falls, was cited for misdemeanor driving after cancellation.

The citation was issued on Main Avenue in Red Lake Falls.

On April 30, Karissa Joy Fuhrman, 33, of Baxter, was cited for speeding.

The citation was issued on Highway 59 south of Plummer.
