Osage (trfnews.i234.me) — A Park Rapids man now faces a gross misdemeanor domestic assault charge in Becker County, according to a criminal complaint filed in Minnesota District Court.

The defendant is identified as Adam Nathaniel Keezer. Court records say he is charged with domestic assault, subsequent violation, under Minnesota Statute 609.2242.

The complaint says the charge carries a maximum penalty of 364 days in jail, a $3,000 fine, or both. The filing is listed in Becker County District Court under court file 03-CR-26-475.

Charge Filed In Becker County

According to the complaint, the case involves an incident in Osage. The complaint lists the offense date as Jan. 10, 2026. The probable cause section lists the response date as Jan. 10, 2025.

That date difference appears in the court document itself. No correction was included in the complaint text provided.

Court records say the reporting party, identified as M.L.S., told law enforcement that she and Keezer have three children together. She said they had been in a relationship for about seven years.

What The Complaint Alleges

The complaint says M.L.S. reported that Keezer had been drinking and was asleep on a bed. After the children were put to bed, she said she went to the kitchen because she was not feeling well.

M.L.S. told authorities the youngest child began to cry. She said Keezer became upset when she did not respond right away. The complaint says he then screamed at her.

The filing alleges Keezer put his arms under her armpits and threw her to the ground. M.L.S. said she landed on her back. The complaint says she showed a mark on her back that hurt when pressure was applied.

The complaint also says M.L.S. ran to a bedroom to call 911. She said Keezer followed her and told her, “If you press charges then you’ll see.”

Prior Conviction Cited

The complaint says Keezer has a prior qualified domestic violence-related conviction. That earlier case involved a violation of a domestic abuse order for protection.

A criminal charge is only an accusation. The defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

Readers can follow court information through the Minnesota Judicial Branch. Minnesota law on domestic assault is also available through the Minnesota Office of the Revisor of Statutes.
