Waseca County (trfnews.i234.me) — A Waseca man died in a one-vehicle crash early Tuesday on westbound Highway 14 in Saint Mary Township.

The Minnesota State Patrol said the crash happened at about 2:09 a.m. near mile marker 156. The vehicle was a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe. Investigators said the SUV was traveling west when it left the roadway.

The driver was identified as David Percy Weller, 61, of Waseca. Authorities said he died at the scene. No hospital transport was listed in the report.

Crash Details

The crash happened on a dry road. The patrol said only one vehicle was involved. The report also said the Tahoe’s airbag did not deploy.

Authorities said Weller was not wearing a seat belt. The crash report listed him as unbelted and unrestrained. Alcohol was not suspected.

No other people were listed in the vehicle. The incident remains a fatal single-vehicle crash. The report did not give a reason why the SUV left the road.
