Otter Tail County (trfnews.i234.me) — Drivers on westbound Interstate 94 just west of Fergus Falls faced major delays Sunday afternoon. Several crashes blocked traffic and forced detours, according to state officials.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported the crashes around 3 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2025. Multiple vehicles were involved in separate incidents on the westbound lanes of I-94. Some of the crashes blocked travel lanes. Westbound drivers were routed off the interstate while responders cleared the scene.

A State Patrol spokesperson posted an alert on social media. The update said troopers were responding to and investigating several crashes in the same stretch of highway. The spokesperson reported that some crashes were blocking the westbound roadway. Detours were put in place for westbound traffic. The diversion point was reported near Exit 55 west of Fergus Falls.

Officials said local law enforcement agencies were assisting the State Patrol with traffic control. They were also helping with the crash investigations. Snow, wind, and rapidly changing road conditions were reported across west central Minnesota over the weekend. Officials urged drivers to slow down, leave extra space, and plan for longer travel times.

As of late Sunday afternoon, officials had not released full details on the number of vehicles involved. They also had not said whether anyone was injured. Drivers in the area were asked to avoid unnecessary travel on I-94 west of Fergus Falls. Troopers remained on scene while damaged vehicles were removed and the roadway was cleared.

Motorists are urged to check current road and traffic conditions before heading out. Travelers can visit 511mn.org or use the Minnesota 511 mobile app. The Minnesota Department of Transportation also posts winter driving tips and travel alerts at dot.state.mn.us.

This is a developing traffic story. Additional updates will be posted as more information becomes available from state officials and responders.
