Road conditions and driver tips

Ice can form fast during light snow and changing temperatures.

Officials urge drivers to slow down and leave more space.

They also urge smooth steering and gentle braking.

Sudden moves can start a skid on packed snow.

If you start to slide, ease off the gas and steer smoothly.

Do not slam the brakes unless your vehicle is sliding straight.
