East Grand Forks, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – Joshua Jerome Johnson, 21, of Grygla, is facing multiple charges after crashing his truck into a light pole while driving under the influence with a blood alcohol concentration of .28, according to newly filed court documents.
Around 1:52 a.m. on June 21st, state troopers responded to a crash where Johnson’s Ford F-150 had smashed into a light pole and suffered major damage. Officers found Johnson slurring, uncooperative, and lying on the ground near the wreck. He was removed from the vehicle due to suspected gas leakage.
Two cans of Coors beer were found, and Johnson admitted to drinking “one beer.” He blew a .270 on a preliminary test, and later a .28 on an official test. Johnson reportedly screamed racial slurs, grabbed at police equipment, and became verbally abusive during processing.
He’s been charged with:
-
2nd Degree DWI – Under the Influence
-
2nd Degree DWI – .08 or More
-
Careless Driving
This is Johnson’s second DWI, with a previous conviction in July 2023.
