Winona, Winona County (trfnews.i234.me) – A four-vehicle chain-reaction crash Wednesday afternoon in Winona County resulted in injuries for two drivers after a vehicle left the roadway, triggering a collision sequence.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash occurred around 4:00 p.m. on June 4 on U.S. Highway 61 near Minnesota Highway 43. A vehicle veered off the roadway, setting off a chain-reaction collision involving a 2018 Chevrolet Malibu, 2019 Jeep Cherokee, 2022 Honda Odyssey, and 2019 Ford Transit Van — all traveling northbound.

Caleb John Scharpf, 40, of La Crosse, WI, and Wendy Ann Bublitz, 63, of Winona, MN, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Winona Hospital. Two other drivers, Ian Thomas Schultz, 29, and Daniel Joseph Hesch, 45, both of Winona, were uninjured.

Emergency responders from the Winona County Sheriff’s Office, local police, fire, and ambulance services assisted on the scene. Alcohol was not a factor, and road conditions were dry.
