Zimmerman, Sherburne County (trfnews.i234.me) — A 7-year-old girl was found safe after an AMBER Alert.

A man is in custody in the Sherburne County Jail after an alleged abduction.

The AMBER Alert was later canceled after she was found safe.

What we know

The Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office said the child was last seen around 4 p.m. Wednesday.

She was seen getting off a school bus near her home.

Sherburne County Dispatch received a missing-child report around 6:30 p.m.

A community notice went out at 9:45 p.m.

That notice mentioned a black car near the bus route.

Investigators later ruled out any black vehicle involvement.

An AMBER Alert was issued at 11:40 p.m. after new information came in.

Search and recovery

Investigators used technology to develop a suspect vehicle.

Authorities said the suspect vehicle was a white Dodge Ram pickup.

An emergency alert went to law enforcement shortly after 12:30 a.m.

Around 1 a.m., the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension reported the girl was located on Interstate 35.

Authorities said she was found safe inside a vehicle.

Twenty-eight-year-old Joseph Bragg of Maple Grove was arrested.

He was booked into the Sherburne County Jail, officials said.

The sheriff’s office said he will be charged with abduction.

The child was checked at a hospital and reunited with her family.

Investigation details

Authorities said they believe this was a stranger abduction.

They also said there was a social media link to the child.

The sheriff’s office thanked officers and first responders who helped.

Officials also thanked about 700 volunteers who joined the search.
