Yellen Announces Major Affordable Housing Plans in Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen is in Minnesota, spending a few days unveiling new initiatives aimed at increasing housing supply and reducing costs for working families. Yellen’s office has confirmed that she will announce a $100 million investment over the next three years to boost affordable housing.

During her visit, Secretary Yellen will have lunch with Minnesota CEOs and host a round table with U.S. Senator Tina Smith. She will also tour a family housing expansion project in Minneapolis and speak at an afternoon news conference.

On Tuesday, Yellen’s schedule includes a round table on community development financial institutions with U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar.
