Woman Charged with Setting Apartment on Fire in Thief River Falls, Minnesota; Children Unharmed

THIEF RIVER FALLS, MN (trfnews.i234.me) Two children are safe, after a woman allegedly set their apartment on fire in Thief River Falls, Minnesota early Tuesday morning. Misty Myhrer has been charged with 1st Degree Arson.
a 33-year-old Misty Don Meer of thief of Falls Minnesota has been charged with first deegree arson following a Tuesday fire in that City reading directly from the criminal complaint this is what allegedly happened with the names of officers and others omitted quote on January 16th at 106 a.m. law enforcement dispatched to 1113 Street East in Thief ofer falls upon a report by a man that his girlfriend identified as Misty Don Meer uh the defendant had lit the place on fire and that the fire was now out but the defendant was attempting to leave uh officers responded and uh met at the back of the apartment building with the defendant who was standing next to the apartment door that leads into a basement apartment the defendant appeared intoxicated and didn’t respond when asked what was going on uh the woman’s uh boyfriend then walked out the door of the basement apartment carrying a smoldering blanket in his hand and appeared upset he placed the blanket in the snow and asked the sergeant to come downstairs upon walking downstairs the sergeant observed that it was Smoky and the lights were out there were two juvenile boys in the apartment at this time as the sergeant made his way past the laundry room and into the kitchen area he saw a pile of SM smoldering clothing on the floor next to a bedroom and Scorch marks on the wall and ceiling uh the man stated that the uh defendant had been out drinking that night and when she got home she was intoxicated the man was watching a movie on TV and the power went out he then noticed in the TV’s reflection a fire burning in the kitchen upon seeing the Flames he went into the kitchen area and saw the clothing that was hanging on the door was on fire the defendant was standing next to it although uh the man did not see the defendant light the fire she was the only one in the kitchen at the time and the fire couldn’t have been lit uh long as he hadn’t had time to smell the smoke in the living room before the power went out the sergeant carried the burning and smoldering clothing out as it was getting hard to breathe uh deputies then removed two children and placed them in a patrol car to get them out of the smoke and wait for a family member to pick them up the defendant was placed in a squad car for suspicion of arson and now charged I’m Neil Berg reporting for I trfnews.i234.me
