Marshall County, MN (trfnews.i234.me) — A disturbing financial crime has surfaced in Marshall County, where Holly Baker Walseth is accused of stealing nearly $300,000 from an elderly man while acting as his power of attorney.

🔴 The Investigation:

  • The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department launched an investigation in January 2023 after discovering unauthorized financial transactions.
  • Authorities uncovered a shocking 997 transactions totaling $292,900 that Walseth allegedly took from the victim’s accounts.
  • She is now facing felony theft charges, which carry a maximum sentence of up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

🔴 A Breach of Trust:
Walseth, who at one point had an address in Thief River Falls, was entrusted with managing the victim’s finances. Instead, investigators say she exploited that trust for personal gain.

Financial elder abuse cases like this are on the rise, with many victims unaware until it’s too late. If convicted, Walseth could spend decades behind bars for her alleged crimes.
