Wild Arrest in Grand Forks: Man Faces Multiple Charges

Mark Boyer of Grand Forks has been formally charged in a domestic violence incident that occurred just before 7:00 PM on Thursday. TRF News was on the scene as Boyer was taken into custody. According to the criminal complaint, the following events transpired:

  1. Incident Reported: On June 13th at 6:16 PM, officers were dispatched to a domestic violence incident with injuries. Dispatchers could hear a male yelling and a female crying in the background. The female was heard yelling for help, and the male threatened to “bash your brains in.”
  2. Officers Arrive: Upon arrival, officers met with the female victim, who was crying, bleeding from the left side of her mouth, and had swelling and bruises on her face. She reported being hit in the head with a wooden board.
  3. Confrontation with Boyer: Officers asked Boyer to come outside, but he refused, claiming the victim was not his wife and calling her a robot. Officers observed several clear glass smoking devices with burn marks and residue that tested positive for methamphetamine.
  4. Arrest and Struggle: Boyer fled into a bathroom and refused commands to come out. Officers used pepper spray and physically pulled him out. Boyer resisted arrest, pulling his arms away and attempting to turn around during the struggle.
  5. Charges Filed: Boyer has been charged with terrorizing, domestic violence, interference with a telephone during an emergency call, simple assault on a peace officer, preventing arrest, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
