West Central Minnesota (trfnews.i234.me) — Troopers are warning that roads remain slippery across west central Minnesota after another early morning incident involving a semi on Interstate 94.
According to an update shared by Sergeant Jesse Grabow of the Minnesota State Patrol, a semi jackknifed into the ditch near Exit 22 by Barnesville. The report was issued around 6 a.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.
Troopers say no injuries were reported in the jackknife. However, the incident is another sign that drivers are still dealing with slick and changing road conditions.
The State Patrol says roads in the area remain very slippery. Fresh snow, wind, and falling temperatures can leave ice on bridges, ramps, and open stretches of interstate even after plows pass through.
Officials are asking drivers to slow down, buckle up, and turn cruise control off when roads are icy or snow-covered. They also stress the need to increase following distance to give drivers more time to react.
Motorists are urged to travel with care and adjust their speed to match road and weather conditions. Even if traffic appears to be moving at normal speeds, hidden patches of ice can quickly lead to loss of control.
Drivers can check real-time Minnesota road and weather information on the state’s 511 system at 511mn.org. The Minnesota Department of Transportation also posts winter driving tips, road closures, and plow updates at dot.state.mn.us.
Troopers say the jackknifed semi near Barnesville is a reminder that winter driving season is underway and that conditions can change quickly, especially during the early morning hours.
