good morning grand forks happy friday my name is evan rise and this is your und weather update taking a live look at our und skycam looking west couple of things to take note of number one we’ve got peaks of brown from underneath the snow as that snow is starting to melt off significantly across the area and looking west we can see clear skies out past the cloud cover that’s currently over the top of us and that is going to be making its way over us throughout the day currently hovering right at freezing 32 degrees with a wind out of the south-southwest at 14 miles per hour temperatures across the nation right now looks pretty similar to what we’ve actually been seeing um over the past few weeks it hasn’t changed a whole lot it is warming up a little bit in the southeast uh we can see texas is starting to get some nice warmer colors coming that way and that’s going to be warming up throughout the day for them today too more in our area though current temperatures all of them hovering right around or above freezing and that is going to be increasing as we go throughout the day winds right now mostly out of the south maxing out for us around 14 or 15 miles per hour in the red river valley a little bit windier in southwestern minnesota those uh south winds coupled with that cloud cover right now is what’s been keeping us nice and toasty overnight the past night the past few hours on our satellite and radar we can see that storm system making its way through the southeast and then up in our area that cloud cover has been making its way eastbound over us too you can see a couple peaks of snow flurries that the radar has been picking up but most of that hasn’t actually been reaching the ground but for our forecast headlines nice and mild today much warmer and then this weekend cooling off in a chance of snow flurries with next week the warm returning again our futurecast that storm system that we are just taking a look at making its way up the eastern seaboard into the new england area saturday morning we can see those flurries we were talking about making their way through the area so you might be wanting to keep an eye out for that saturday morning and then as we move into sunday we can actually see snow making its way through sioux falls area all the way up through duluth bringing about one to three inches of snow throughout that area as that makes its way off into sunday but for today a high temperature of 47 degrees those skies are going to be clearing throughout the day and nice and warm enjoy it while you can southwest winds at 10 to 50 miles per hour gusting to 25. for today across red river valley uh highs ranging from low 40s in minot up to mid to upper 50s grand forks all the way up to mid 50s in south dakota today for tonight low temperature of around 10 degrees those clouds are going to be increasing again as a cold front moves in from the north with bringing with it north winds at 10 to 15 miles per hour gusting up to 20. and then for tomorrow much colder than today high of 17 bringing those morning flurries we’ve been talking about and the wind still north at 10 to 15 miles per hour gusting to 25. across the red river valley for tomorrow much colder in the northern part of north dakota in northwestern minnesota here a little warmer at 21 in fargo and increasingly warm as you go south before that cold front reaches our seven day forecast first three days like we said saturday 17 we’ve got about a 50 percent chance of snow flurries in the morning sunday 27 for the high as we look into next week though we see it warming up real nicely there’s a chance for even warmer temperatures than what we’ve got right there depending on how things play out this weekend my name is evan rise and this has been your und weather update
