BECKER COUNTY, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – A Waubun man is facing felony charges after a Memorial Day motorcycle crash left a woman unconscious and on a ventilator.
Jacob Jerome Riggle, 26, was charged with two counts of criminal vehicular operation – great bodily harm after allegedly driving under the influence near County Highway 56 and County Road 117 on May 26.
The female passenger was found unresponsive in a swamp, vomiting, and was airlifted to Fargo, where she remained sedated on May 28. Riggle initially claimed confusion about who was driving but admitted the motorcycle was his.
Deputies noticed signs of intoxication, and a preliminary breath test showed a 0.138 BAC. A blood sample was also taken for further testing.
Riggle has a 2020 DWI conviction and pending cases in Becker and Mahnomen counties. He was arrested, appeared in court on May 29, and posted $60,000 bail with conditions including GPS and alcohol monitoring.
