Roseau County (trfnews.i234.me) – A Warroad woman is facing a gross misdemeanor after a Minnesota State Patrol Trooper pulled her over and discovered she was driving on a cancelled license status known as IPS (Inimical to Public Safety).

On the evening of May 25, 2025, Trooper spotted a GMC Acadia in the city of Warroad and ran the license plate. The vehicle came back registered to Bridgette Jean Ellenson, 39, whose Minnesota driving privileges had been Cancelled-IPS, a designation reserved for serious license revocations such as DWI or repeated offenses.

The driver matched the description of the registered owner. When stopped, she admitted to being the owner, and Trooper confirmed her identity. Ellenson was informed she would be charged with driving after cancellation and advised to await court paperwork.

Under Minnesota law, this charge carries a penalty of up to 364 days in jail and/or a $3,000 fine.
