WARREN, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – On Monday at 9:52 p.m., the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department received a report of a fire at Landmark Apartments in Warren, Minnesota. The Warren Fire Department responded, with assistance from North Valley Health Center Ambulance, Alvarado Fire Department, and Argyle Fire Department. Firefighters contained the kitchen fire to a single apartment unit.
The tenant had placed groceries on the stovetop, inadvertently left on, which ignited the items. The tenant suffered burns and smoke inhalation and was transported to North Valley Health Center, then transferred to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, and later flown to a burn unit in Minneapolis. The tenant succumbed to injuries and passed away on Tuesday.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office expressed gratitude to the responding departments for their efforts in extinguishing the fire. The victim’s identity has not been released. The fire damage was confined to one unit, with smoke affecting the entire building.
