POLK COUNTY, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – A Warren, Minnesota man, Michael John Slusar, 45, has been sentenced to 120 days in Polk County custody for the third-degree sale of a narcotic. Slusar pleaded guilty to the felony crime, as well as a gross misdemeanor for driving while impaired, in April. Additional charges, including felony fifth-degree drug possession and gross misdemeanor driving after cancellation, were dismissed.

In October, law enforcement searched Slusar’s residence and discovered approximately four grams of suspected methamphetamine, two digital scales, several methamphetamine pipes, a methamphetamine bong, around 60 grams of suspected marijuana, 15 grams of suspected psychedelic mushrooms, and other drug paraphernalia. Slusar had been apprehended earlier and was believed to be under the influence of drugs.

Slusar’s sentencing took place on Thursday, June 27. He was granted a stayed 33-month prison sentence but will serve 120 days locally. With credit for 38 days already served, he may complete the remainder of his sentence on electronic home monitoring.

Slusar will be on supervised probation for five years. Conditions include completing a comprehensive assessment and following all recommendations, attending a MADD impact panel, and undergoing cognitive skills training if recommended by probation. If he violates probation conditions, he risks serving the full prison sentence.
