Vote Expected Today on ERA and Abortion Rights Amendments in St. Paul, Minnesota

ST. PAUL, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – Democrats plan to bring an Equal Rights and Abortion Rights Constitutional Amendment proposal to a vote in the Minnesota House today after several delays. House GOP Minority Leader Lisa Demuth points to a recent poll finding 64% of Minnesotans want equal rights and abortion rights as separate constitutional amendments, but Democrats do not appear to be pursuing that route. House Speaker Melissa Hortman noted that Senate DFLers had an intensive caucus meeting to decide if they would accept the proposed language and put it on the ballot. They are ready to proceed with the current language. If passed by the legislature, the proposed amendment would appear on the ballot in 2026.
