ST PAUL, Minn. (trfnews.i234.me) – A shocking incident unfolded on Sunday afternoon when a US Postal Service (USPS) employee allegedly shot his supervisor multiple times at a post office branch in St. Paul, Minnesota.

According to court documents filed by prosecutors, 28-year-old Tewabe Semu Getachew is charged with second-degree attempted murder for the shooting. The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m. at the USPS branch located on Seventh Street West.

The victim, a postal supervisor, was rushed to Regions Hospital in critical condition after being shot several times, mostly in his back. Despite his injuries, he remains stable and is expected to undergo additional surgery later this month.

Investigations revealed that Getachew had worked out of the same branch as the victim on Sunday and had been experiencing mental health issues. Colleagues described him as “weird” and having a history of refusing to do his job and arguing with supervisors.

Police were alerted by another employee who called 911 after returning to the building and finding the supervisor shot. Responding officers found spent .40 caliber casings from the floor, which matched the type used in Getachew’s Glock handgun recovered during a search warrant at his residence.

Getachew was taken into custody around 4:50 p.m., approximately two hours after the shooting occurred. He initially denied any involvement but later admitted to seeing his supervisor at work on Sunday.

The investigation is ongoing, and prosecutors are pursuing charges against Getachew for attempted murder in connection with the incident. The USPS has not commented publicly on the matter.
