Urgent Update: Suspect Apprehended Following Apartment Collision and Attempted Carjacking in Grand Forks

GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) A suspect in custody, after apparently crashing into a Grand Forks apartment building and then trying to carjack another vehiiicle.
we’re getting more details about a car crashing into the sonoma apartments here at 4240 fifth avenue north at 9 23 p.m on this saturday evening we’re now learning a suspect the person who may have been driving the car then ran out onto the street and tried to carjack this a white vehicle that was stopped by the scene uh police quickly arrested him uh we have a witness who saw most of it i was in my apartment right back here at campus place and uh i heard a loud bang so i came outside and uh then i saw like this kid exit the apartment because he had he drove a car into that apartment and he runs out and these people were seeing what was going on in this white car here this hyundai and he tried to steal their car and then the guy in the car i believe it was the driver he starts screaming get through to the kid attacking the kid punching him to get him out of the car because the kid’s trying to go away and they get him out of the car and like four cops tackle him and i don’t know and then he started resisting the rest when they’re pulling him over to the other color we didn’t know if he had like a gun or what because when the guy started screaming we didn’t know if the kid was reaching for something but like literally it was like a hundred people out here just all sprinted away because we thought he had a gun or something but yeah i guess he didn’t so at least the one person under arrest after a vehicle drives into the sonoma apartments here at 4245th avenue north in grand forks at 9 23 pm on this saturday no word yet if anyone in the apartment building was injured the we were hearing at the time that the second floor was being evacuated uh we’ll have more details after uh police finish processing the scene i’m Neil Berg reporting for trfnews.i234.me
