some breaking news at a far Northern Minnesota a rescue is underway the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office says an estimated 100 people fishing off a large chunk of ice has broken free on upper Red Lake they’re trying to get them off that ice uh message here says if you’re on the ice and need to evacuate head toward Jr’s Corner the resort here on the south side of upper Red Lake there is a temporary icebridge to get across the Open Water again officials working on getting over 100 people off the ice on upper Red Lake this is a photo from yesterday from Jr’s Resort up there but uh once again people fishing way too early in finding themselves in a dangerous situation I’m Neil Berg reporting for itrfnews.i234.me

There was 5-6 inches of ice before the weekend which WAS thick enough but would have been more careful with the warm temps.
Our Park Rapids, Mn lake isn't even a little bit frozen!
It happens every year it's all part of the game when you fish early ice and remember there's no such thing as safe ice.
If fishing was banned there wouldnt have been anyone out there.
