Urgent Update: Early Wednesday Morning Fire at Grand Forks Apartment

GRAND FORKS, ND (trfnews.i234.me) Firefighters called to an apartment fire on North 3rd Street in Grand Forks early Wednesday morning. The fire displaced the renters of 6 apartments in the older home.
Neil Berg here was some breaking news out of Grand Forks early on a Wednesday morning we had a fire in a older home cut up into apartment buildings the fire was here at 409 North 3rd Street just a block North of Kelly’s bar here’s a battalion chief Chuck Marcon uh we were dispatched just prior to 1 a.m this morning for a fire alarm with smoke I arrived on scene and noted smoke coming from the third floor okay um then fire Crews Advanced Fire Truck Lines access the third floor and extinguish the fire and then we’ve been here performing overhaul and everything so uh this was a older home cut up into Apartments it’s converted it was originally I wouldn’t presuming was a single family residence that had been converted into I believe six units okay so it’s multi-family structure now all right everybody displaced yes every all the tenants are displaced and being assisted currently by the property management all right was there much damage on the top floor the third floor there’s some pretty extensive fire damage and some additional damage kind of extended throughout the home you get smoke and water but a little bit of smoke and water below it yeah and nobody hurt nobody heard no uh marcott says the renters of six Apartments displaced the State Fire Marshal will be on the scene today to investigate the cause of this fire in Grand Forks I’m Neil Berg reporting for itrfnews.i234.me
