UPDATE: More Details In Deadly Police Shooting In Crookston, Minnesota

CROOKSTON, MN (trfnews.i234.me) – We have more details regarding a deadly police shooting in Crookston, Minnesota, early Thursday morning. It appears that a man wielding a hatchet may have been shot multiple times. Crookston police officers wear body cameras, but it is not yet known if they were activated during the confrontation.

Neil Berg here in Crookston with more details on the incident where police shot and killed a man armed with a hatchet early Thursday morning. As previously reported, police confronted the man, initially using less-lethal means before fatally shooting him as he approached the officers. According to radio traffic, the man was struck multiple times.

Additionally, a post on the I News Facebook page mentioned that one person heard two weak-sounding shots, possibly tasers, followed by six or seven loud shots. Another person reported hearing six or seven loud shots. Since this is an officer-involved shooting, the investigation has been turned over to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA). Multiple evidence markers, possibly for shell casings, were seen at the scene.

It remains unknown whether the officers’ body cameras were on during the shooting, but it is possible that footage of the confrontation will be reviewed later. The identity of the deceased man has not yet been released.

  1. I was just talking to my neighbor about the time my friend and I walked across town carrying an axe. We were trying to break up a recliner for the dumpster. No ill intent. But I wouldnt allow my teen to do the same.
